Letter - August 2009

Hi all,

This letter is to keep you informed about the EXTREME MALTESE METAL FESTIVAL 2009.

First if all I would like to start by apologising for keeping you waiting for a long time and to let you all know that we have not forgotten about you.

Over the past 6 months the EMM crew (Stephan & William) have been working very hard on this year’s festival but as you probably already heard, we had trouble finding a venue that would satisfy us as organizers, the bands, and also the metal fans who attend the festival.
In the last 4 months we found a number of venues but unfortunately we were not satisfied with the conditions that were given to us. Most of the problems were because of the amount of money that we were asked to pay to rent the venue and some other agreements such as: who would supply food vendors, sponsors from certain beer companies that were not accepted by the venues etc...That would have meant not paying the bands, raising the entrance fee, or paying out of our own pockets. This from my behalf would not be fair on anyone.

Another problem was that one of the venues rented the place to new management and because of lack of professionalism between one management and the other; they were not told about our booking for the festival which unfortunately lead to a loss of venue and to a certain amount of money that held us back a couple of months.
However after all the arguments and misfortunes we have not given up and we are still trying to find another venue to make the EMM 2009 festival a success and most of all entertaining for the bands and the people.

So if anyone has any ideas about a good venue that would help us out we would be very much obliged.
