Regarding King Diamond, you can't realy connect with him, his music is more of concept horror stories come to life in music.

Yeah i agree with your view on ayreon, but he does create some great concept albums when one is in the mood for it.

Sirenia are one of those bands i always mean to listen to, but never actually get to in the end. Xandria on the other hand i never heard of but will definitely check them out.

As for type O.......Peter Steele as his own chapter in the evolution of metal.. Their sound is just unique and I love it.

I always try to find new bands to my liking, but lately its becoming harder and harder so i end up always listening to the classics, except in the gothic/symphonic metal genre such as the bands mentioned so far.

What do you think of King Diamond?

I only heard a few songs from Theatre of Tragedy but i liked them.

Other Bands i would recomend in the same style are After Forever, Stream of Passion featuring Ayreon (Lucas Ajren) and To-Mera.

So, in the depths of an illusory nightmare I stumble and crawl on... my only refuge being... that evanescent echo called 'music'.
