Weeping Silence are a Female fronted, symphonic, gothic Metal band formed in the mid-‘90s.
Weeping Silence released their debut album 'Deprived from Romance' which is inclined towards a dreamy doom metal style, accompanied by harmonized guitar tunes and steady, slow tempo drumming. A track also featured on a compilation CD entitled 'Arch Music Compilation'.
Following the release of ‘Deprived from Romance’ the band decided that change was needed. Sean Pollacco joined on bass, whilst Rachel Grech became the main vocals of the band. Rachel added power with her strong voice, pushing the band into new territory within the local metal scene. Weeping Silence have played live with this line-up in many rock clubs and attracted a sizeable audience.
Weeping Silence then recorded their second album, ‘End of an Era’, at Temple Studios in Malta.Soon after the recording was complete, guitarist Raphael Grech was replaced by Toni Farrugia (Dilapidated, Orbus Vitae, Amentia). Later the same year the band finalised a deal with Mexican Label Divenia Records, for the release of ‘End of an Era’. Unfortunately, the deal fell apart during the following year as Divenia ran out of funds and closed down. This forced the band back to the marketing phase for the album. 'End of an Era' was released by the greek record label 'Sleaszy Rider Records' in 2008 and recieved many positive reviews.
Weeping Silence have recorded a third album at Temple Studios. The material on this album is heavier than previous work and features an ensemble from a prominent local Choir. It obviously retains the atmosphere and melancholy which are synonymous to Weeping Silence. The album, is scheduled for release during the late months of 2009.
Mario Cilia was replaced by talented pianist and keyboardist Alison Ellul. Also Joseph Grech has joined as accompanying male vocals.
